Lowella Esperanza, MD - Zephyrhills, FL
Dr. Lowella Esperanza was born in Staten Island, New York, and grew up in a Coast Guard family, which meant frequent moves before ultimately settling in St. Petersburg, Florida. She earned her medical degree at the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa and completed her medical internship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Returning to Tampa, she completed her dermatology residency at the University of South Florida. In 1996, Dr. Esperanza founded the Dermatology Department at the Florida Medical Clinic, a large multi-specialty group serving the Tampa Bay area. She is passionate about general dermatology, with a special focus on aesthetics and surgical dermatology. In addition to her busy practice, she enjoys teaching medical students and has been involved in outreach and educational programs in the community. Dr. Esperanza resides in Tampa with her husband, Dr. Emilio Dominguez, a retired infectious disease physician, and enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, hiking and traveling.
Sarah Jackson, MD - New Orleans, LA
Dr. Sarah Jackson is a board-certified dermatologist and third generation physician specializing in medical, cosmetic, and laser dermatology. Dr. Jackson has a private practice in New Orleans, Louisiana, and spends time teaching, lecturing, and participating in clinical trials in dermatology. Dr. Jackson is a graduate of Louisiana State University School of Medicine. She received her undergraduate degree in zoology from Louisiana State University, where she graduated cum laude. Her postdoctoral training was at the Louisiana State University Department of Dermatology. Dr. Jackson contributed to the rebuilding of New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina by co-founding Audubon Dermatology with Dr. Deirdre Hooper in 2006. She is the current President of the Women’s Dermatologic Society, and active in the AAD, ASDS, and her local Louisiana Dermatological Society.
Francisca Kartono, DO, FAOCD, FAAD - Northville, MI
Francisca Kartono, DO is a board-certified, fellowship-trained dermatologist serving patients across Southeast Michigan. Raised as an international student between Indonesia and Belgium, she graduated with honors in Biochemistry from UCLA before earning her osteopathic medical degree from Western University of Health Sciences. She completed her Dermatology residency at Botsford and Pontiac Osteopathic Hospitals, affiliated with Michigan State University, followed by a Cutaneous Lymphoma fellowship at Ohio State University Medical Center where she served as Assistant Clinical Professor in Dermatology.
Dr. Kartono is now an Assistant Clinical Professor at Michigan State University's College of Human Medicine and College of Osteopathic Medicine. She currently serves as the President of the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology and is the founder of her practice MI Skin Center. In addition to her clinical practice, she is the Medical Director of the Advanced Skin Cancer Tumor Board at Trinity Health Hospitals, Associate Program Director for the Dermatology Residency Program at Corewell Hospitals, and faculty member at both the Family Medicine and Dermatology Residencies at Trinity Health.
A passionate educator, Dr. Kartono has authored numerous articles in dermatology journals, lectures at national conferences, and collaborates with industry and local community groups. She is also the founder of MI Skin Innovations, a clinical trials unit within her private practice dedicated to advancing dermatology through cutting-edge research. Her dermatology interests include psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, chronic itch, hospital dermatology, complex medical dermatology, cutaneous lymphomas, multidisciplinary dermatology care, and dermatology in skin of color. Dr. Kartono also actively mentors new dermatology residents, encouraging them to embrace the business of medicine while fostering the future of private practice dermatology.
Ata Moshiri, MD, MPH, FAAD - New York, NY
Dr. Moshiri is an Assistant Professor of Dermatology and Dermatopathology at the Ronald O. Perelman Department of Dermatology at New York University. He serves as the Director of Laboratory Operations of their high-volume dermatopathology service, and the Director of the Dermatopathology Fellowship Program. He is an active member of various national organizations, and serves on committees for the AAD, APD, and ASDP. Clinically, he has interests in melanoma and pigmented lesions, and specializes in the diagnosis and management of challenging melanocytic proliferations using molecular diagnostics.
Mona Shahriari, MD, FAAD - Cromwell, CT
Dr. Shahriari is Assistant Clinical Professor of Dermatology at Yale University School of Medicine, Associate Director of Clinical Trials at CCD Research, a member of the NPF medical board, and Senior Editor for the Journal of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis. She is also the immediate past president of the Connecticut Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery. Prior to co-founding Central Connecticut Dermatology, Dr. Shahriari was assistant clinical professor of dermatology and associate director of the clinical trials unit at the University of Connecticut Department of Dermatology where she completed both her medical school and residency training.
Her clinical and research interests include inflammatory skin conditions in both adult and pediatric patients, and the study of novel therapeutics for skin disease, in particular in those with melanin rich skin. She has served as principle investigator and sub-investigator for numerous multi-center clinical studies, published articles in well renowned peer-reviewed journals and served as an invited speaker at local, national, and international conferences.
Amy Spizuoco, DO, FAOCD, FAAD - New York, NY
Dr. Amy Spizuoco is a board certified dermatologist and dermatopathologist. She did her undergraduate training at SUNY Binghamton, majoring in Italian and Biology. She then went to medical school at the NY College of Osteopathic Medicine. After medical school, she completed her dermatology residency at LECOM/Alta Dermatology in Arizona. During that time she studied skin cancer surgery, pediatric dermatology at Phoenix Children’s Hospital and attended Dermatology Grand Rounds at Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale. After residency, Dr. Spizuoco went back to NY to complete a dermatopathology fellowship at the Ackerman Academy of Dermatopathology.
Dr. Spizuoco has been practicing medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology, as well as dermatopathology in Manhattan for 14 years. She is past President of the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology and is an Associate Clinical Instructor in the Department of Dermatology at The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. She is also on the editorial board of Practical Dermatology and Dermatology Times.
Stan Tolkachjov, MD, FAAD, FACMS - Lewisville, TX
Dr. Tolkachjov is a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained and board certified Mohs micrographic & reconstructive surgeon with interests in skin cancers, Mohs surgery & complex facial reconstruction, and pyoderma gangrenosum. He’s the Founder and Director of the Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology Fellowship and core dermatology faculty at Baylor University Medical Center. He’s a clinical assistant professor at UT Southwestern Department of Dermatology, clinical associate professor at Texas A&M College of Medicine, staff surgeon at the Dallas VA Medical Center, and is the Dallas area Director of Mohs Micrographic & Reconstructive Surgery for Epiphany Dermatology and has performed over 20,000 cases.
He graduated from Emory University followed by the University of Tennessee College of Medicine at the top of his class. He completed his residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, followed by a formal Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology fellowship at the Surgical Dermatology Group in Birmingham, Alabama, where he also practiced for the first few years of his career prior to coming to Dallas.
He is an active member of dermatologic societies, directed sessions, and has held committee positions and chairmanships in the AAD, ACMS, ASDS, ISDS, and is the President of the Dallas Dermatologic Society.
He continues to teach students, residents, and fellows with various speaking engagements nationally and internationally.
Allison Vidimos, MD - Cleveland, OH
Allison T. Vidimos RPh, MD received her B.S. in Pharmacy from Purdue University in 1981and her M.D. degree from Indiana University in 1985. She completed her dermatology residency and two-year Mohs micrographic surgery fellowship at Cleveland Clinic Foundation, where she joined the staff in 1991. She received the Bruce Hubbard Stewart Award for Humanitarianism from Cleveland Clinic GME in 2022.
She was a member of the Scientific Assembly Committee and Membership Committee for the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) 2012-2017 and currently serves as Chairman of the Compounding Committee. She was elected to the Board of Directors of the AAD in 2022. She has been a member of the Site and Slide Review, Fellowship Training Committee, Public Policy and Advocacy Committee, Physician Engagement Council (Improving Wisely Initiative), Mohs Foundation Inaugural Committee, and served as President of the American College of Mohs Surgery (ACMS) in 2017-2018. Dr. Vidimos received the Frederic Mohs Lifetime Achievement Award in 2021.
Dr. Vidimos was appointed to the ACGME Dermatology Residency Review Committee (RRC) in July 2024. She has co-authored 2 textbooks and over 120 peer-reviewed articles. Her clinical practice and research encompass skin cancer prevention, diagnosis and treatment, and patient safety. She has participated in medical mission trips to Honduras for 11 years.
